Social media is always changing. This is especially true for Instagram. New features are always being rolled out. Worried that you are behind? Have no clue what the latest Instagram trends are? What is IGTV? IGTV is Instagram’s latest new feature. It allows Instagram users to create videos up to one hour. Whereas before users were limited to only one minute. All Instagram users already have an IGTV account. It’s video designed for the smartphone. Users can either use IGTV directly from the Instagram app or download the IGTV app.
Your IGTV videos are not limited to your followers either. If your account is public anyone can see your videos. It’s a great way to gain new followers. You no longer have to create a separate YouTube account. You can just create all your videos on IGTV.
2) Instagram Stories
Instagram stories is a powerful social media marketing tool. It’s a great way to reach your audience. Instagram stories can be used in many ways. You can host a live Q&A session, promote your product or service, or broadcast a live event. Instead of broadcasting, you can use photos instead. Many brands use Instagram stories as a way to keep their audience in the know.
You can even use it to promote one of your posts. Instagram now allows you to categorize your stories thanks to the new highlights feature. Categorizing them enables you to keep them on your profile as long as you want. You can even cross promote your stories on Facebook. This is one Instagram trend that will not be going anywhere anytime soon.
3) Instagram Stories Q&A Templates
These Q&A templates are basically fun questionnaires. They can be about anything. Instagram stories questionnaires can be organized in any way. You can have them be fill in the blank, this or that questions, etc. The only limit is your imagination. You don’t have to create them yourself either.
You can take a screenshot of another user or brand’s questionnaire, answer it, then post it. It’s a great way to connect with your audience. It helps them to get to know you. It helps them to engage with you. This, in turn, will help you to get to know them.
4) Newer Posts Displayed First
Instagram made a change to their algorithm after many complaints. People were tired of seeing the same old posts over and over again. Instagram changed it so that you see new posts first. But that doesn’t mean older posts don’t matter either. Instagram is trying to strike a balance between them. Personally, I would rather see a new post first.
What this means for you is that the timing of your posts matter. This is no different than on any other social media networks. To get maximum exposure take time to figure out when you should post. In order to do this just look at your Instagram analytics. Your analytics will tell what days and times you receive the most engagement.
Many brands and businesses are working with micro-influencers on IG. What is a micro-influencer? Anyone who has at least a 1000 followers is a micro-influencer. More brands are working with them because they are relatable. According to Wix, “They’re not a brand, but a user like yourself, and that’s felt in the way they post and the way in which they talk about the products they use”.
Micro-influencers are more affordable than influencers. Which is great for small businesses and brands. Micro-influencers also focus on a certain niche. For example, their IG might only focus on parenting. Their IG feed might only focus on makeup reviews.
If you are looking to make money on Instagram become a micro-influencer. It takes a lot less time to become a micro-influencer than an influencer. You don’t have to have a million followers to make good money. Many micro-influencers do pretty well with just a few thousand.
Now that you are aware of what’s hot on Instagram you can plan a new winning strategy. Of course, you don’t have to do them all to be successful.
