When you refer someone to a product or service and they buy it you earn a commission.

That is affiliate marketing in a nutshell. But it’s not done through word of mouth. You refer people through links. If they click on the link and buy you make money. The links take people to the business’s products or services.

The problem with eBay and Etsy is that you need physical products to sell. Signing up for their sites is free. BUT it does cost money to buy items to resell on eBay. Unless you are a creative/crafty person it’s hard to make products to sell on Etsy.

With affiliate marketing, you never have to host a party. You never have to push products on family or friends.
