You can make money with affiliate marketing without a blog. I know not everyone loves to write. For some people starting a blog is too daunting. It can take too much time, and energy to keep it up. Especially when you want to make money right away.
But at the same time, you want to create a passive income for yourself. You want to set it and forget it. For bloggers sometimes you don’t always have the time to write a new blog post. I know that’s how it is for me at times.
I started looking for more opportunities to promote affiliate links myself. The more opportunities you have to promote your affiliate links the better your chances that someone will click on them. After doing some research I found other ways to promote affiliate links.

Is affiliate marketing only for bloggers?
No, it isn’t. A lot of bloggers do use affiliate marketing to monetize their blogs. However, you don’t need a blog in order to start using affiliate links. It’s just a matter of finding an affiliate program that doesn’t require you to have your own blog or website.
Affiliate Marketing without a blog
According to Thirsty Affiliates, you can be a successful affiliate marketer without a blog or website. I’ve listed the different ways below.
Affiliate Marketing with Pinterest
Pinterest is one of the best ways to promote affiliate products. The site allows pinners to add affiliate links directly to their pins. Meaning no blog is required.
You can do it for free! Pinterest has over 200 million active users. The great thing is when people click on the link, they are taken directly to the affiliate product.
You can pin pretty much anything you want. You can pin pintables, eBooks, clothes, furniture, makeup, etc.
The affiliate programs that don’t allow you to use Pinterest
When it comes to Amazon products however some people say you can’t pin them to Pinterest. Others say you can. Definitely check out Amazon’s website to find out for sure.
Etsy no longer allows its affiliate links to be pinned on Pinterest or social media. They only accept content publishers.
If you are a blogger, you can write a blog post about the Etsy products you want to promote. Then create pins for your blog post. You can do this for Amazon products too.
The main rule when it comes to pinning affiliate links
There is one rule when pinning affiliate products to Pinterest. You must include the word #afflink, #sponsored, or #ad at the end of your pin description. This lets pinners know that you are acting as an affiliate. If you, don’t you can get banned from Pinterest.
To learn the exact strategy to affiliate marketing on Pinterest get the ebook Getting Paid to Pin! It helped me to make my first affiliate sale.
If you’re looking for affiliate products sign up through ShareASale. Share A Sale is an affiliate network with tons and tons of retailers. I was able to sign up and get accepted without having thousands upon thousands of page views or subscribers.
Videos
Videos are a great way to promote your affiliate links. You can post them on any social media network. No writing is required.
According to Social Media Today, 64% of clients often buy a product online after watching a video about it. There are 4 times more buyers that prefer to watch a video about a product than those that prefer to just read about it.
What types of videos to make for affiliate marketing?
How do you think popular YouTubers make their money? Take a look at popular beauty vloggers. They show how the products work in their videos. This makes viewers want to buy the item so they can try it themselves.
Or they make product recommendations. Since their viewers trust them, they buy what they recommend. You can do the same thing with your affiliate links through video.
Tutorials are a great way to showcase an affiliate product. Viewers see for themselves how the product can solve their problems.
If you post the video to Instagram, you can put the link in your bio, use Linktree, or use the Linkin.bio tool. If you decide to post the video to YouTube you can put the affiliate link in the description. When you are doing a video, you don’t have to say you are an affiliate.
But as a word of caution check with your affiliate to see if they allow you to post their affiliate links on social media. Some merchants have strict rules about how they want their products or services promoted.

Affiliate Marketing with Email Marketing
Email marketing is one of the most popular methods used among affiliate marketers to sell affiliate products. Some affiliate marketers use email marketing only.
They don’t run a website, blog, or podcast. Many bloggers use email marketing to sell their affiliate products too.
How to collect email addresses for affiliate marketing
But you do have to start an email list in order for this method to work. Here is one way to do this. You create an opt-in or landing page that gives them something for free in exchange for their email address.
This is called a freebie. It can be a guide, report, checklist, ebook, video course, etc.
Once collected you can either create a thank you page or send them a thank you email. Thank them for signing up, introduce yourself, and tell them how they can collect their freebie. Then you send them a series of emails called a sequence.
Once you set your sequence you can set them on auto-respond. Meaning you don’t have to keep writing and sending them out yourself.
Some affiliates will even provide you with emails already written. All you have to do is copy, paste, and then send. Pinterest allows you to pin landing pages to your boards!
The email service provider I recommend
The free email service provider that I recommend is Mailerlite, you can create as many landing pages as you want for free! You get up to 1000 subscribers for free. Don’t make the mistake I made and pay for an email service before you reach that goal.
You don’t want to pay for only 20 subscribers.
Affiliate Marketing with Instagram
Now Instagram is a little tricky. You can’t add links directly. But there are ways you can add them. You can:
- Use a Free link in bio tool like Smart.bio
- Get 10K followers then add a link to your stories
- Use Like to Know It
If you don’t have 10,000 followers your best bet is a link in a bio tool like Smart.bio. When someone clicks on your link, they’ll see your Instagram landing page.
This page will have all the links you want people to click on. The best part is you can add links to your Instagram posts.
With Like to know it when someone likes your photo, they’ll receive an email with a shoppable link to buy the item. The drawback is you have to get approved first through Reward Style.
Create Freebies
This is a strategy I just started to implement. If you want to grow your email list giving away something for free is a must.
For example, you give away a free guide, checklist, etc. in exchange for their email address. You add affiliate links throughout your freebie a.k.a free item.
Tons of bloggers, marketers, and entrepreneurs use this strategy. You don’t need a blog to do it. Just an email service provider that has landing pages.
Conclusion
There are a variety of ways to make money with affiliate marketing without a blog. Make sure to check to see what methods of promotion are allowed with your affiliates. You don’t want to just start spamming links all over social media.
It will just turn people off. That’s why I suggested Pinterest, email marketing, and other strategies. Those are ways you can promote your links without coming off as spammy.
