First signup and get your free 30-day trial. You’ll be asked for your email address, contact information, the name of your store, and set up a password. Once that is set up you’ll be able to access the control panel.
Your store isn’t launched just because you create an account. You have to click on the launch your store button. Only then will it be live for the world to see. Until your store is launched customers will see a store coming soon sign. 
You can even get feedback on your store from customers. Just share your preview code with them. This way you’ll know what they want in your store. If at any point you want to update your store just click on the down for maintenance switch.
You can purchase your theme, domain, SSL certificate, and more from the app and theme marketplace. There are free and paid options available. If at any point you decide to hire you can set individual permissions for each employee. To do this setup users in your store.
