How to Make Money as a Creative Entrepreneur During Black Friday 2021

Black friday 2020

Black Friday is one of if not the biggest shopping days of the year. According to SpendMeNot, Black Friday online shopping sales hit $7.4 billion last year which is an all-time high. That number is expected to go up this year due to the pandemic.

SpendMeNot also stated that Amazon accounted for 54.9% of all Black Friday sales. That’s pretty big. I expect those numbers to increase during Black Friday 2020. More people will shop online than ever before because of the pandemic.

Which means you need to get ready for it. Don’t miss out because you think it might be too much work. With the right preparation, Black Friday and Cyber Monday will be a breeze.  Read the rest of my blog post below to get Black Friday marketing ideas for your blog or online shop.

How to get your blog ready for Black Friday 2020

The best way to get your blog ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2020 is to create a roundup post. Put together a post of the best black Friday sales and Cyber Monday deals from affiliates. Don’t make the mistake of shoving every deal in the post.
I made this mistake myself a few times. When you put too many deals in it your audience just gets overwhelmed. As bloggers, we tend to think the more the better. You’re always hearing, “create long authoritative content”.
In this case, don’t do that. When your audience is faced with too many choices they won’t make one.
Make the decision to buy as easy as possible.
Here are a few tips to follow:
  • Use images of the items on sale
  • Make the deals specific to your audience
  • Create a post of around 10-15 items at the most
  • Let them know when the sale starts and ends
If you want to learn exactly how to put a post or page like this together I recommend the One Page Passive Income System from Kimi Kinsey. You’ll learn how to make passive income with this method.
I also recommend the Holiday Sales Page Template. You’ll be able to quickly put together a roundup or sales page. All you have to do is install it and add your links.
Many bloggers are grabbing the Holiday Sales page template because it’s so easy to use.

How to get your Etsy shop or Online store ready

The main thing you have to decide is what type of Black Friday 2020 sale to run. There are tons of things you can do. You can:
  • Run a sitewide sale like 30% off everything
  • Do Buy 1 get 1 50% off
  • Only offer select items on sale
  • Offer a free item if people spend a certain amount
Then once you decide that you need to create graphics for your sale. You need to create IG graphics, IG story graphics, a special Sale banner for your store, etc.  I recommend this Black Friday graphics bundle. It’s stylish and the seller even offers BF IG story graphics.
Start creating buzz around your sale now. Start teasing it on social media and to your email list if you have one. Get people excited about it.
If you want to learn step-by-step how to create a profitable promo for Black Friday I recommend checking out Morgan Nield. She is an Etsy shop and e-commerce expert. She has tons of courses that can help you.

How to promote your roundup post or sale

Pinterest

Normally I’m all about using Pinterest for traffic. But in this case, I recommend creating a video pin or story pin. You’ll get more eyeballs on your pin faster. If you create a regular pin it won’t take off right away unless you have thousands of followers on Pinterest.

Instagram and Facebook

I also recommend creating IG story graphics to promote your sale or post. Show your audience what’s on sale. Then encourage them to click on the link in bio. Instead of a regular graphic for your IG feed or FB page, I recommend video.
Videos get more engagement on social media nowadays. Once again it’s the best way to show them what’s on sale. I definitely encourage you to promote your sale or post in FB groups.
Or even promote your social media post or Pin in FB groups instead. People may not respond to the direct link. But they might respond to your social media link better. Think of it as a way to funnel your audience to the sale.
I recommend promoting your IG post in IG engagement FB groups like Insta Girl gang or Boss Babes. They have multiple engagement threads all throughout the day.

Email

Definitely send an email to your list about your post or Black Friday sale. Don’t be afraid to let them know. Trust me I know how it feels to be scared to sell. You don’t want to scare away your audience.
But the ones who get turned off by it were never going to buy from you. To quote Kate Doster being on your list is a privilege.
You can always give your list the option to opt-out of Black Friday emails. That way you only send emails to the ones who’re interested. Send them an email about Cyber Monday sales too.
